Clothing

I am wondering about the appearance of hip people. Just the other day at work I saw this boy come in with a huge red rose tattooed onto his neck. It was actually rather gross. Not only was the tattoo hideous, but the thought that one day when he was old and gray the tattoo would be too. Ewie.

Sometimes I don't think they realize that they are eventually going to be parents, and will, hopefully, someday gain a degree of some sort. They will be out in the work field, and have these tattoos in plain sight. Now I do not have any problems with tattoos or piercings. Although, I do know several people who have been turned down from jobs for just that reason.

I know several people I work with have to wear band-aids over their piercings, which seem just as obvious as their piercing. I recall one lady asked a girl (who has a nose ring) if all of the employees had to wear band- aids over their noses.

It was explained to her the purpose of the band-aids, she crinkled her nose and said it seems silly that anyone would put something on their face that would be so conspicuous.  It made me laugh that she even asked.

Some of the clothing seems rather interesting. I can see how some of the clothing could be taken wrong. Perhaps others would find it to be the clothing of a hooligan? Perhaps assume because of the attire that the person was immature, or someone not to be taken seriously.

It shouldn’t come down to that, but they do say that it takes only 7 seconds for a person to determine the sort of character someone is. Even if their judgment is completely off. So is it worth it to have huge rose tattoos on your neck? Is the clothing worth it if you can’t be taken seriously? Who really cares?
